Getting startedWhat is Gimmie?
Gimmie is a gift discovery and shopping companion built around people, not just product keywords. Tell Gimmie who you are shopping for, the occasion, what they are like, and your budget; it turns that context into product ideas you can refine, save, or add to your cart. If the person has a Gimmie profile, their shared Taste Intelligence can make those ideas more personal. Open Discover and describe the person in a sentence to begin.
Best practice: Start with two or three real details about the person instead of a product name.
Getting startedDo I need an account to search?
No. You can browse and search without an account. Signing in lets you save gifts, build people profiles, connect Pinterest, keep an occasion calendar, and return to your plans on supported devices.
Getting startedWhat are the main parts of Gimmie?
Start with Discover when you want gift ideas or want to shop for yourself. People stores the people you care about, Calendar remembers important occasions, Saved keeps products and lists organized, Look Finder finds similar products from a screenshot or supported social post, and Messages lets signed-in members share ideas privately. Your Profile and Settings control the information and connections that shape your experience.
Finding giftsHow do I get better gift results?
Describe who the gift is for, the occasion, their interests or personality, and your budget. A useful prompt is: a meaningful birthday gift for my dad who cooks outdoors, under $100. You can then use the refinement choices or add a correction in the search box without starting over.
Best practice: Add one emotional clue, such as comforting, playful, practical, nostalgic, or adventurous.
Finding giftsIs choosing a recipient required?
No. Recipient selection is optional. Choose a Gimmie profile when you want Taste Intelligence applied automatically, or describe the person directly in the search box.
Finding giftsWhat is the difference between Gift and For Me?
Gift is for shopping with another person and occasion in mind, so Gimmie asks about the recipient and can apply their shared Taste Intelligence. For Me focuses on your own taste and skips recipient-specific prompts. You can switch between them at the top of Discover without losing access to the product catalog.
Finding giftsWhat is Taste Intelligence?
Taste Intelligence is Gimmie's private picture of what a person tends to value and enjoy. It can include two personality archetypes, interests, preferred categories, saved items, Pinterest signals, and gifting history. You decide what to connect and what to share; Gimmie uses those signals to make discovery more relevant rather than showing the same generic list to everyone.
Finding giftsHow does Look Finder work?
Look Finder searches for visually similar products from either a screenshot you choose or a supported public Instagram or TikTok post. Open Look Finder, add one source, and choose Find this look. You can refine the result by item or brand, then open, save, or add a matching product to your cart.
ProfilesHow do I shop for someone from their profile?
Open their profile and choose Shop gifts for them. Gimmie carries their profile and archetypes into gift discovery so you do not have to re-enter what they like.
ProfilesWhat should I add to my own gift profile?
Complete your Taste Intelligence, connect Pinterest, keep a few useful public lists, and add interests that remain true over time. You can keep private lists and boards hidden.
Best practice: A small, current profile is more helpful than a large wishlist you no longer care about.
ProfilesWhat is People?
People is where you organize the people you shop for. You can follow an existing Gimmie member or create a private profile for someone who is not on Gimmie, with only the details that help you choose a thoughtful gift. Choosing Shop gifts for them carries the available recipient context into Discover.
PinterestWhy connect Pinterest?
Pinterest boards often contain the most natural record of a person's taste. Gimmie can use approved boards to understand themes, materials, colors, hobbies, and objects, then turn those signals into shoppable gift ideas.
PinterestCan everyone see my Pinterest boards?
No. You choose which boards Gimmie may read and which, if any, appear publicly on your profile. Private analysis and public profile visibility are separate controls.
PinterestHow do I shop a Pinterest board?
Connect Pinterest from your profile, approve a board, then open that board and choose Shop board. Gimmie uses the board as a visual reference for gift discovery.
CalendarHow does the gift calendar work?
Add birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and personal moments. Each occasion can include a person, budget, notes, and recurrence. When it is time, Find a gift creates a search from that occasion.
CalendarHow do I move dates from another calendar?
Export an .ics file from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, then use Import .ics in Gimmie. Gimmie reads event titles and dates on your device before saving the occasions you imported.
CalendarCan I add an occasion to Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. Each occasion has Google Calendar, Outlook, and iCal actions. Google and Outlook open a prefilled provider event; iCal downloads a standards-based event file that Apple Calendar and most calendar apps understand.
CalendarWhat should I put in a gift reminder?
Use the real date, an honest budget, and a note about the person rather than the gift you expect to buy. Begin looking two to four weeks before personal occasions and earlier for custom or shipped gifts.
Best practice: Plan the feeling first, then choose the product.
Saved and checkoutHow do saved lists work?
Save products into My Closet, Gift Ideas, For Me, or a list you create. You can rename lists, change their visibility, remove items, and use public lists to help people shop for you.
Saved and checkoutHow does checkout work across stores?
Gimmie keeps products organized in one cart, then uses the available merchant checkout path for each item. Review variants, quantities, shipping, taxes, returns, and the final merchant before paying.
Saved and checkoutCan I buy everything directly on Gimmie?
The checkout path depends on the product and merchant. Gimmie can keep products together in your cart and may support a direct checkout path when the merchant connection allows it; otherwise, Gimmie sends you to the merchant to finish securely. The final merchant checkout is the source of truth for price, inventory, shipping, taxes, returns, and order support.
Getting startedHow do Messages work?
Signed-in members can use Messages to share products, images, and supported links with the people in a conversation. Open Messages from the signed-in navigation, choose a conversation, and send the idea from there. Conversations are intended only for their participants, and you should never send passwords or payment details.
Team giftingHow does corporate gifting work?
A company chooses a quarterly budget and team size, which creates a clear allowance per person. Employees can create private Gimmie profiles, choose gifts within policy, and include personal messages or photo greeting cards.
Team giftingCan teammates buy gifts for one another?
Yes. A team program can support self-directed allowances, peer gifting, manager recognition, and company occasions. Personal taste and delivery details remain under the employee's control.
Team giftingWhat should an administrator decide first?
Set the quarter budget, eligible participants, per-person allowance, rollover policy, approved occasions, and who can see spend. Then invite employees to complete private gift profiles before the first campaign.
Best practice: Give people choice inside a clear budget instead of sending one generic item to everyone.
Privacy and safetyWho can see my private taste data?
You control what other people can see. Gimmie keeps public profile content separate from private taste inputs, and a saved list or Pinterest board appears publicly only when you choose to share it. Calendar files can be imported without giving Gimmie mailbox access. Open Settings, then Privacy & Data, when you want to review the available controls.
Privacy and safetyHow do I control what appears on my profile?
Use the visibility control on each supported list, closet item, or Pinterest board to choose whether it appears publicly. Private analysis and public display are separate, so a connected board can help Taste Intelligence without appearing on your profile. Open your Profile to manage content, or Settings and Privacy & Data for account-level controls.
Privacy and safetyHow should I handle a suspicious product or merchant?
Do not complete checkout. Verify the merchant, price, return policy, shipping timeline, and secure checkout domain. Use the Help Center if you need the item reviewed.
SupportHow do I contact Gimmie Support?
Email support@gimmie.ai when you need a person to review an account-specific problem or something the Help Center did not resolve. Include the page you were using, what you expected, what happened instead, and the exact error message. Never send a password, authentication code, full payment credential, bank information, or identity document.
